OBJECTIVE:
To compare the therapeutic effects of triple puncture at Tianzong (SI 11) and routine acupuncture on obstinate tennis elbow.

A common condition that is experienced not only by golfers and tennis players but those using a computer mouse and various types of repetitive movements.

METHODS:

Researchers randomly divided 62 cases into two groups. The treatment group, 32 cases, received triple puncture at Tianzong (SI 11) plus local elbow points. The control group, 30 cases, received only local elbow points. After one treatment course, researchers compared symptom and sign changes between groups.

RESULTS:
The cured rate of 71.900 in the treatment group was significantly better than 43.3% in the control group (P

CONCLUSION:
Acupuncture and tennis elbow: triple puncture combined with routine acupoint selection therapy has a better therapeutic effect on obstinate tennis elbow than the routine acupoint selection therapy.
